20/365 Wonderful Wednesday!

My Sunday school class at church has been working more and more towards spending time together aside from Sunday mornings.  This morning, a bunch of us moms got together for some quality play and talk time.  I am almost always up for an excuse to get the kids out of the house so, this morning, we packed up a picnic lunch and headed to Almeda Park for some playtime!  We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to more of them.

The uncomfortable place I had to take Jackson.

This is the reaction I got when I said "Look at Mommy and smile!!!"

19/365 Not Feeling Her Best

Sickness seems to be taking up residence in our home.  Not content to stay in one person, it seems to take it's turn with each of us, over and over again.  Currently, it is focusing on me and Molly.  Molly is a tiny little basket case when she is sick, but she maintains her ridiculous amount of cuteness none-the-less.
Jackson has school this morning, so I took advantage of the quiet time to allow Molly some TV time before nap time.  She curled up on the couch and I do believe she would have laid there all day if I let her.

18/365 Daddy's Boy!

Jackson is turning more and more into a Daddy's boy.  He is happy to watch "the game" with Daddy and even loves to play Hide-and-seek with him as well.  So it is really no surprise when Jackson wants to cuddle with Daddy on the couch.  I'm pretty sure Jason is over joyed with this stage in Jackson's life.

17/365 Nothing But Green and Gold!!!

These photos were taken moments after the Packers beat the Bears to move on to Superbowl XLV!!!!  I have a team flag, license plate, license plate holder, toddler cheerleading outfit, and a t-shirt coming in the mail. :)  I tried to go to the Packers Pro Shop online.... but the fans blew up the site.  First, it was super slow, and then the entire site went down.  I've always cheered on the Packers, but it wasn't until now that I realized how little I had to show my team spirit!  We'll see how my flag goes over with the Steelers fans a few houses down. :)  I wanted to get a giant blow up Packer player, but Jason wouldn't let me. :/

16/365 It's Building Time!

Jason has been taking Jackson to our local Lowe's Build and Grow workshops for the past several months.  The kids get an apron, goggles, and (after completing their project) a patch to go on their apron.
Today, I finally decided to bring Molly, too.  She wasn't as into it as I would have liked, but we all had fun and the kids look ridiculously adorable and proud of themselves!

15/365 Family Time!

I was so excited to finally have a successful family movie night.  I've been wanting them for a while, but they kids just didn't have the attention span for it.  So I thought it through and made these arrangements:

1. Movie night it to be located in Mommy and Daddy's room so as to avoid toy distractions.
2. The movie selected shall be no more than 60 minutes in length.
3. Lights well be left ON so as to ease any possible scary moments.
4. Snacks and beverages must be provided.
5. There must be enough time after the movie to wash sheets after snacks and beverages are enjoyed.

So, we watch The Land Before Time and enjoyed popcorn and apple juice!  I am looking forward to many more of these nights!

14/365 Back In The Backyard

Temporarily having two dogs running around the backyard has made it a little more difficult for the kids to play out there, so we haven't been able to be outside as much as we might light.  This afternoon, we decided to head out there as soon as we got home!  Jackson was happy to be back on his bike!  Apparently, it was a great photo op for Jackson!

Molly?  Not so much.  She rode her bike for about 5 minutes and proceeded to whine, "I'm too cold!"  Don't worry, I only took this one photo and then I let her go inside.  :)  Is it bad that this makes me giggle?

13/365 The Little Things

Many of you will think this is silly, and some of you will completely understand.  I have had the chance to get a few things to make my life a little easier and more enjoyable.

First, this adorable little docking bay for my ipod.  I love listening to music when working in the kitchen.  Many time I am able to put music on the TV, but, if the kids are watching something, I get stuck listening to whatever they have on.

Next, a brand new toaster oven!!!  We had our previous toaster oven for 7 and a half years and it served us well, but I got tired of having to watch it to make sure it stayed on, since it liked to turn itself off randomly.

And last but not least, toy storage for Molly's room!  When we first moved here, it wasn't much of an issue, but as she has developed her own "girlie" interests, the kids interest in toys overlaps less and less. Therefore, the toys just seem to multiply.  It was time to get something in Molly's room that she could access easily.  I think this storage unit is adorable!

12/365 MLK Day Fun!

Jackson had been asking to go bowling for several weeks.  Jason and I aren't able to bowl with my bad shoulder and his broken finger, but the kids had a blast!

Molly liked showing off her bowling shoes.

Final score- Jackson: 112 and Molly: 90

After a very brief nap, we headed to a playground.  Yes, Jackson still goes everywhere in his cowboy boots.

11/365 Perfect Puzzle

Molly got an adorable princess puzzle from Uncle Matt and Aunt Irene for Christmas.  (there were actually two puzzles).  First, we put together the puzzle.

Then, you take the puzzle pieces out in a certain order and stack them.  Below, you can see that they become a castle!

Then, we painted the castle!  Molly loves it and is very excited to put the castle in her room.
